The Karl Bayer Team has submitted two speaking proposals for SXSW 2016 Interactive Festival and encourages everyone to go vote!

What is SXSW PanelPicker and How Do You Vote?

Since 2007, the SXSW organizers have been calling on the community to enter, review, comment, and vote on the speaking proposals they want to be a part of the SXSW Interactive Festival.  The proposal submission process already took place in June and July. Now, from August 10, 2015 to September 4, 2015, all ideas received have been posted online and the community can vote on which proposals they would like to be in the 2016 March event. The community votes comprise 30% of the final content line-up decision, the SXSW Advisory Board accounts for 40% of the final decision, and the SXSW staff is 30%.

To vote, go to the PanelPicker website to create an account and vote for the proposals that you want to see at SXSW 2016 Interactive Festival.  Each voter can vote once per proposal. Please leave any comments or questions you have for the organizer in the comments section at the bottom of the PanelPicker proposal page. The PanelPicker interface allows users to find and filter proposals in numerous ways including a global search field, which lets users search keywords in any field (speaker, title, theme, etc). We have provided the direct voting link for our proposals below.

The Karl Bayer Team’s proposals

The Karl Bayer team has submitted two proposals this year: (1) Revolutionizing the Client-Lawyer Relationship, and (2) Healthy Conflict Engagement: Good for the Soul.

Revolutionizing the Client-Lawyer Relationship is a proposal submitted by Karl Bayer and his law partner Renée Kolar.  They propose to discuss the technological advances that have disrupted and sparked big changes in the legal industry. They believe that the new way of practicing law should leverage tools from the digital age to provide clients with quality legal counseling at fair value. They’ll talk about new technology that can help lawyers work more efficiently, the different online legal resources and DIY options for clients, as well as finding the balance between seeking tailored legal advice and doing it yourself. Vote for Revolutionizing the Client-Lawyer Relationship!

Healthy Conflict Engagement: Good for the Soul is a proposal submitted by Karl Bayer, Holly Hayes Bovio, and Kristi Tonn. They propose to talk about the cost of conflict in professional and personal relationships, and will discuss healthy ways to engage in conflict turning a disagreement into an opportunity for mutual gain. Vote for Healthy Conflict Engagement: Good for the Soul!

The first programming announcement for SXSW 2016 Interactive Festival will be on Monday October 19, 2015. Thanks for voting and stay tuned!

About Renee Kolar

Renée Kolar received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in December 2012 and passed the February 2013 Texas Bar Exam. Her experience living abroad and studying translation taught her that misunderstandings between people arise not just from their language differences, but also from the absence of a shared cultural background.
